Gerald Cleveland Loyd passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the age of 
72. 

A native of Covington, LA and resident of Abita Springs, LA for the past 42 
years. Beloved husband of Faye Quave Loyd for 52 years. Devoted father of Tena 
Warner (Danny), Kay Loup (Wade), Gerald ÒFattyÓ Loyd (Keva), and the late 
Angelle Caballero (Rickey). Brother of Bobbye Pellegrin, Jack Loyd, Betty 
Thompson, Larry Loyd, Lynn Taylor, Sally Lam, and the late Roger ÒScrubÓ Loyd. 
Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Gerald was the 
owner of Loyd Contracting, Inc. for over 40 years and a dear friend to all who 
knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Wednesday, 
September 14, 2011 at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Baptist Church 
Road, Covington, LA 70435 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be held at the church 
from 10:00 am until service time. 

Interment will follow in Fussell Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The New Zion Baptist Church, 
Covington, LA 70435 in the memory of Gerald C. Loyd.
