Mr. Loyd was the only child of Hugh Garfield Loyd and Annie Jenkins Loyd of Bush where he was born and raised. He graduated from Lyon High School in 1940, attended LSU, and during World War II, he served in the U.S. Marines Corps. In 1951, he was hired by the American Broadcasting Company, in New York as a television and radio engineer. He spent his entire career with ABC, retiring in 1987 as chief engineer. He is survived by one daughter, Delilah Anne Mahon and son-in-law Michael Mahon of Marlboro N.J., and two sons, Lyell John Loyd of Yonkers, N.Y., and Garfield Joseph Loyd of Brooklyn, N.Y. A third son, Lyndon Robert Loyd died in 1973. There are two precious granddaughters Diana Marie Mahon and Juliette Lillian Loyd. Funeral services were conducted at St. GabrielŐs Church in Marlboro, N.J. with the Salvation Army providing a eulogy. He was interred in St. GabrielŐs cemetery with his wife, Jennifer Mary Loyd, who died in 2007. ===================
