Edith Marie Peyton, 86, of Slidell passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, in 
Slidell.

The beloved mother of Pamela Ann Hart, Bruce Walter Schexnayder and the late 
Janet Raymond-Swain, she was the daughter of the late Earl K. Peyton and 
Adorestine Ourso Peyton and sister of Robert K. Peyton, Donald K. Peyton, 
Marjorie P. LaCour, Miriam P. Kahl and the late Earl K. Peyton, Jr., Warren 
Kay, Pearl P. Kahl, Charlotte P. Sicard, and Dorothy Ford. She is also survived 
by seven grandchildren, Leo Raymond, III, Scott Raymond, Jeanette Clavier, Lisa 
Prinz, Christy Alfrey, Shea Hedrick and Victoria Templet; seven great-
grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a native of New Orleans 
and a resident of Slidell since 1977. She was a retired executive secretary for 
Siemens Inc. and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in 
Slidell.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral Mass at 
11 a.m. tomorrow at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, (in Forest 
Lawn Cemetery), Slidell. Visitation will be from 9 Ð 11 a.m. Interment will 
follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Donations may be made to Notre Dame Hospice of New Orleans in lieu of flowers.
