She leaves her beloved sons Shane Michael Bushaw and Heath Jacob Bushaw, her much-loved grandson, Heath Jacob Bushaw, Jr., her only sister, Janet Irene Picerno Neff, niece, Kathleen Rae Neff, nephew, David Russell Neff and her dearest friend, Shay Hoffman. Carolyn was born in Chicago, IL on August 11, 1950 to the late M. Irene and Salvatore P. Picerno. She grew up in Glen Ellyn, IL. As a young person she loved her friends, school, band, and riding horses. While at Glenbard West High School she became a Candy Striper and went on to earn her nursing degree at Iowa State University. She started her nursing career as a home health nurse in Iowa. She moved to Louisiana in 1982 and to Covington in 1984 where she has lived for the last 28 years. She held several nursing positions in New Orleans and most recently was a nurse at Lockhead Martin in 2002. She had a life-long love of horses and at one time volunteered to help children ride horses in a therapeutic setting. She was a devoted mother to her two loving sons and adored her grandson. She had a sweet and kind nature and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. After cremation a memorial service will be held at a later date. ===================
