Doris Nelson Schaeffer Galatas, on Friday, October 14, 2011, 2011.

Beloved wife of the late Maurice D. Galatas, Sr. and Milton P. Schaeffer. 
Mother of Sandra Kyle, Patricia McDougal and Milton “Butch” Schaeffer, Jr. 
Mother-in-law of Patrick McDougal, Kathleen Schaeffer and the late James P. 
Kyle. Sister of Beryl Sallinger and of the late John Nelson and Elvira Fortier. 
Half-sister of the late George Nelson, Theodore Nelson, Hersene Smith and 
Veronica Romano. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 
great-great-grandchild.

Aged 89 years. A native of New Orleans, LA, a former longtime resident of 
Chalmette, LA and a resident of Mandeville, LA for the past 6 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass on 
Monday, October 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 
W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visitation on Monday from 10:00 AM until 
service time. Interment in Mandeville Cemetery.

A special thank you for the loving care given to her by Nina and Tommy Hoke and 
also Lakeshore Hospice.
