The beloved husband of 62 years to Arlitta “Snooks” Levy Holden, he was also the beloved father of Michele Holden (Beth), Roxanne Holden and the late Kermit Holden, Jr.; grandfather of Kristopher (Karen), Jared (Marisa), Joshua and Alexandra Holden and great-grandfather of Brennan and Addison Holden and the late Grace Holden. Mr. Holden was a graduate of Slidell High School and played semi-pro baseball with the New Orleans Pelicans in 1948-1949. He was a retired salesman with Patterson Sales & Services and was past president of the New Orleans Petroleum Club and the original Lamplighter Club. He was also a co-founder of the Terrytown Volunteer Fire Department and past chairman of the board. Mr. Kermit loved to fish, hunt and golf. He was a member of the BASS club, the N.O. Petroleum Golf Association and the Lafitte Fishing Club. Kermit will be especially missed as the life of the party who came up with the best jokes, while playing his banjo and guitar. He was honored to be the master of ceremonies for many occasions. He was a native of Slidell, and a resident of Terrytown. The funeral Mass was held yesterday in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Harvey. Interment was private.
