He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Gayle Picard Langhans; his son, David D. Langhans; daughter, Lisa L. Frederick (Allen) of Pearl River; one step-granddaughter, Ashley Frederick of Pearl River; one cousin, James H. Hoobs (Rose) of Princeton, IL; 3 brothers-in-law; Dudley Picard of Sulfur, Charles L/Picard (Betty) of Lake Charles and Kenneth D. Picard (Jan) of Slidell. He was preceded in death by his parents George Oscar Langhans and Dorothy Hobbs Langhans. Mr. Langhans served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict; he was a member of G.N.O. Airstream Caravan Club for many years, and an avid boater and fisherman in his younger and middle years. A graduate of Delgado Community College of New Orleans, he was past owner of Phillips “66” Better Service, Slidell Muffler Shop, Slidell Radiator Shop and President of Tammany Muffler Shops, Inc. After retiring from business, he issued Driver’s Licenses for the D.M.V. and was a Lane Starter for G.N.O. Auto Auction. A private graveside service was held at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family is grateful for the compassionate care given by Amera Care Family Hospice of 303 West 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 and would appreciate donations to them in his memory.
