Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2011/st1110.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== God saw that Bussy was getting weary, so he came and stood beside him and said, “Come and rest and get your heavenly reward.” A native of Madisonville, and resident of Baton Rouge, George A. “Bussy” Mire Jr., 84, died Monday morning, Oct. 17, 2011, at Sunrise Senior Living on Jefferson Highway. Bussy enlisted in the Navy during World War II and served as aviation radioman third class stationed in Jacksonville, Fla. After the war ended, he lettered in LSU varsity baseball in 1948 under Coach Harry Rabenhorst. He worked with his father at his family’s sawmill and lumberyard in Houltonville. In 1950, he married Marie “Patsy” Wolfe and together raised their six children in Covington. He spent most of his career at Pre-stressed Concrete Products, Inc. during the construction of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway. After retirement, he and Patsy traveled all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico in their motor home. They spent many Septembers in Gulf Shores with their children and grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Jean Anne Mire, Searcy, Ark.; Nancy and Lonnie Beverly, Baton Rouge; Marian and Keith Bruhl, Folsom; Patty and Louis Brown, Baton Rouge and his sons and their spouses, George and Christine Mire, Covington, and Chris and Joyce Mire, Baton Rouge. He also leaves seven beloved grandchildren, Amy Beverly and Amanda Beverly Raymond, Cody Bruhl, Stephen and Paul Mire, and Margaret and Andrew Mire, and one great-granddaughter, Rose Marie Raymond. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie “Patsy” Wolfe Mire. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunrise Senior Living for their loving and compassionate care. A memorial service will be conducted by Brother Nathan VanHorne and Brother Jeff Brazell at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct, 30, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Folsom, 13320 Broadway St., with fellowship to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Folsom Building Fund ===================
