Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2011/st1110.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== HARVEY PIERRE VERRETTE, age 83,of Slidell, LA, passed away peacefully in his favorite chair “Big Blue”, on Thursday, October 27, 2011. A native of Pierre Part, La., he moved to New Orleans after graduating from Belle Rose High School in 1946. Harvey eventually moved to Slidell, living the good life with his beloved wife, Johnnie Eads Verrette for over 28 years. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert J. Verrette and Edith M. Comeaux, his first wife, Katherine Giroir Verrette, and leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Johnnie, a brother, Davis Verrette(Micky), sisters Janet V. Jensen, Geneva V. Michel(Donald), children, Debbie V. Klotzbach(Louis), Harvey P. Verrette, Jr.(Rebecca), Bruce E. Verrette(Dwan), Kenneth P. Verrette(Kristi), Scott K. Tilley(Annette), Shawn S. Kornrumpf(Kirk), as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Harvey loved the water, loved to fish, crab and cook delicious dishes. He loved to tell a good joke, loved to laugh and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was an active member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge # 2321 for over 20 years and served twice as Exalted Ruler. He was an active member of the Palm Lake Anglers Club. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Elk Service of Remembrance will be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY. Visitation on Wednesday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time.
