She was born in Oakland, CA, on August 29, 1931, lived for 80 years and died peacefully at home in the presence of her loving family. Mrs. Buck, a homemaker, settled in Slidell 31 years ago with her husband after his retirement from the U.S. Navy. She opened a children’s day care center and taught Sunday school. She was active in her church and well loved by friends, family and the many local children whose lives she touched. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Keith Buck, her parents and two sisters, Susanne and Darlene. She is survived by sisters Eleanor, Patricia, brother Don, daughter Patricia Barber of San Antonio, TX, and son, Steven Buck of Slidell. Her grandchildren, Dwayne Boe, Dennis Boe, Jared Buck, Evan Buck, Kelly Woerdemann and Stephanie Barrett all loved their “Nana”. Her great grandchildren Kirsten, Dwayne, Jr., Alyissa, Tig, Tyranny, Aiden and Kaleb will surely be deprived of a “Great Nana’s” love and support. Mrs. Buck was a member of Northside Baptist Church, 61141 Hwy 1091, Slidell, La., where friends and family will be received for her Memorial Service this Friday, November 11, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. Her former Pastor, Donald Denton, will officiate with help from her church family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Northside Baptist Church would be appreciated. ===================
