Velma Lois Jane Cousin, age 68, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011. 

A lifelong resident of Slidell, Velma worked many years for the St. Tammany 
Parish School Board as a paraprofessional. 

She was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, 
Kendise Cousin Magee and Vemel “V.J.” Cousin Jr. She had seven grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Joseph and Eva Williams 
Jones; sister Eva Juliette King and two brothers, Freddie and Charles Vernon 
Jones.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the services at 11 a.m. 
today at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 62129 N. 13th St., Slidell. 
Visitation is from 9 – 11 a.m. 
Interment is in Little Zion Cemetery
