GOMEZ

Irby Joseph Gomez, age 76, passed away peacefully Thursday. Nov. 24, 2011. 

Son of the late Corbert and Nellie Landry Gomez, he was the beloved husband of 
Jerry Gibson Gomez for 37 years; brother of Corbert Gomez, Jr., Paul Gomez 
(Gloria), Shirley Griffin (Dewey, deceased), Maurice Gomez (deceased, Betty), 
Lydia Comberrel (Vincent) and Janie Kuhn (Wayne). 
He is survived by his six children and stepchildren, Susan (Joseph Thomas), 
Nancy, Stephen and Lisa Gomez, Kevin Talley and Glynn Talley (Melissa). 

Predeceased by his late stepson Keith Talley. Paw Paw Irby was much loved by 
his 11 grand and step-grandchildren, Genevieve Finn (Brian), Melissa McGuire 
(David), Cynthia Rachal (Michael), Matthew Thomas, Patrick Gomez, Emily Faget, 
Katie Quarles, Keith and Zeke Talley and Garrett and Gabrielle Talley, and his 
three great-grandchildren, Olivia McGuire and Marie and Isabella Rachal.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at 2 p.m. 
Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Church Road 
(off Highway 437/ Lee Road), Covington. 
Visitation is from noon until service time. 
Internment to follow in New Zion Church Cemetery.
