Beloved Wife of John Stevenson Mother of Jim Stevenson(Theresa) and William Stevenson(Evan Kangas) Sister of Mary Beth Dent, Jamie Albert, and the late Charles Albert, Jr. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, Rachel, Joshua, Kevin, Taylor, Andrew and Jackson. A native of St. Albans, W. Va., and a long time resident of Slidell. She was a graduate of Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC. She was the founder and Owner of The Pool and Patio Store for the last 27 years. Prior to founding her own business she worked for many years with the Slidell Head Start Program serving as a bookkeeper and as an administrator. She was a long time parishioner of Christ Episcopal Church where she served in numerous posts with the Parish Vestry including terms as Senior Warden. Along with her husband John, she also served as the Youth Group Advisor and was for many years the Christian Education Director for Christ Episcopal Church. In addition she was also a member of the Altar Guild and the Choir and was active in the Episcopal Cursillo movement. Finally she served for 18 years as a Mentor for the Education for Ministry Program, administered through the University of the South, School of Theology. In addition to her work with her church she also was a member of the Slidell Junior Auxilliary for many years and was a member and past Queen of the Krewe of Troy. She was also active as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader which carried through to her two sons both of whom are Eagle Scouts. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Services at Christ Episcopal Church, 1534 Seventh Street, Slidell, LA on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. Donations to The Christ Episcopal Church - Marky Stevenson EFM Scholarship Fund preferred, in lieu of flowers. ===================
