She was 79 years old. Cagler was born in Enon and graduated high school from St. Tammany High in 1952. She has lived in Pearl River since 1934 and was a member of the Walker Temple Church of God in Christ in Pearl River. She earned a license in cosmetology from Levelle’s Beauty College in New Orleans. She is survived by her husband, Harold Cagler; two sons, Gil Payton and Jeffrey Payton; three daughters, Melanie Payton Parker, DeAnn Payton Camper and LaWanda Payton, two sisters, Lillie Payton Fields and Elouise Payton; two brothers, Luzell Payton and James Payton, and a number of grand children and other relatives and friends The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012 at Quillen Temple Church of God in Christ 812 Stanley St., Slidell. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until services. Interment will be at Salvation Church Cemetery in St. Joe. Walker Temple COGIC and Macedonia Baptist Church Families, STHS Class of 1952 and all friends and family are invited to attend.
