She was born in Jackson, MS on October 4, 1934 to the late J.J. and Ivy Quarles and having lived abroad on numerous occasions, has called Covington home since 1985. She was preceeded in death by her two brothers, James Jr. and Lawanda (Nip) Quarles. The beloved wife of Richard John Desonier, she is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Desonier Dabdoub ; two sons, Dr. David and Michelle Desonier and James Michael Desonier, seven grandchildren: David, Jr., Alex, Richie, Trishe, Magdelen, Baileigh and Nikolas; four great grandchildren: Emally, Mason, Maddox and Courtland. She is also survived by a loving extended family and friends from around the world. Mrs. Desonier attended LSU in Baton Rouge, LA where she met and married the love of her life, to whom she was devoted and was a loving wife and partner for 58 years. As with Richard, she held an unwavering devotion to the One True God and her Christian faith. When Richard was called to work abroad, she was the rock and foundation of her family in Singapore, Scotland and Dubai until returning home. Her honesty, loyalty to God, family and Country could not have been exhibited with such charm and gracefulness by any other Southern Belle. Often in our thoughts and always near our hearts, your family remains your biggest fans. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 9, 2011 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
