Former husband of Claire Stiegman Sciambra. Loving father of Janice Binnings (Bill), Jeannette Fischer (Cary), A.J. Gonsoulin III (Michelle), Peggy Vallejo Hemelt (Leo) and Leslie Harrington (Patrick). Son of the late Remesia Blanchard Gonsoulin and Armel Joseph Gonsoulin, Sr. Brother of Hazel Gonsoulin Jones, Cecelia Gonsoulin Godfrey, Eva Gonsoulin Corcoran and the late Oscar J. Gonsoulin, David P. Gonsoulin, Jack P. Gonsoulin and Harry P. Gonsoulin. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great great- grandchildren. He was a native of New Orleans and retired to the northshore in 1990. He was a 50 year employee and proprietor of Gulf Cycle Sales. Mr. Gonsoulin was an active minister of Jehovah and a member of the Abita Springs Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed golf and he will be greatly missed at his annual crawfish boil. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, December 12, 2011at 7:00 PM with visitation on Monday from 5:00 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Gonsoulin be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Abita Springs Congregation, 76320 Hwy 21, Covington, LA 70435. ===================
