ROBERT E. GORDON passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the age of 87. 

Beloved husband of Jean Gordon. Father of Robert E. Gordon, Jr. and William B. 
Gordon. Step-father of Russ, Dan, Bob and Bill Van Brunt. Brother of Richard B. 
Gordon. 

He was a 1947 graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Geology and 
a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. 
A resident of Slidell since 1975 and formerly of Littleton, CO. 
He was a veteran of WWII, serving as a B-24 pilot in the 8th Air Force flying 
29 combat missions in Europe and receiving the Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf 
Clusters. Post war he was a B-29 Pilot and Air Craft Commander in the Strategic 
Air Command (SAC). 
After leaving the Air Force, he spent his entire civilian career in the 
Aerospace industry working for Boeing Airplane Company, McDonnell Aircraft, and 
retiring from Martin Marietta Aerospace in 1987. 

Private services will be held in Florida. 

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to a Hospice of your choice.
