A native of New Orleans, LA, since Katrina, she made her home in Covington with her family. Beloved wife of the late Carrol B Grimes Sr. Loving mother of Thomas “Tommy” M. Grimes Sr. (wife Nelda), Judy Grimes McCloskey (husband Randy), and stepmother of Carrol B Grimes Jr. (wife Linda). Grandmother of Thomas “Tom” M. Grimes Jr, Kelly McCloskey, Dannielle Grimes Matassa (husband Chris), and step-grandmother of Carrol “Doody” B. Grimes III (wife Susie), Gregory Grimes (Wife JoAnn), Shannon Grimes Manning (husband Charlie), and Randy McCloskey Jr. Great- grandmother of 6. She is survived by her sister June Garcia LaCanna (husband Ralph). Dot is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Peter Garcia, Sr. and Lena Theurer Garcia, and her sisters Hilda Garcia Arceneaux, Rosemary Garcia Zeller; and her brother Peter Garcia, Jr. She enjoyed rock hunting, camping, and making jewelry and gem trees with her husband Carrol. Her favorite holiday was Mardi Gras and she enjoyed going to the casino on the bus with her best friend Anita. She liked sitting on the patio in the sun watching the birds and loved having parties with family and friends. Family and friends are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 1: 00 PM at St Jane de Chantal Catholic Church, 72040 Maple Street, Abita Springs, LA, 70420. Visitation from 11:30 AM until service time. Burial will follow the Mass at approx. 3:15 PM at Garden of Memories, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA, 70001. In lieu of flowers, Masses and prayers are preferred. ===================
