MELVIN BERT JEFFREY, SR., age 82 years, of Pearl River, LA passed away on 
Wednesday, December 21, 2011.

Beloved Husband of the late Rosemary Galloway Jeffrey
Father of Julie Jeffrey Champagne and Melvin Bert Jeffrey, Jr. Father-in-law of 
Jill Russell Jeffrey and the late Charles R. Champagne.
Brother of the late Noel Jeffrey.

Also survived by 5 grandchildren, Lauryn, Landon and Laikyn Jeffrey, Chas and 
Ricky Champagne. 

A native of New Orleans, La. and a longtime resident of Pearl River, La. 
He served in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean War at Ft. Benning, GA., as a 
Staff Sargent in the air-crash rescue unit from 1948 until 1952 and then worked 
for New Orleans Public Service for 25 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at 
HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, 
LA on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 10:00 A.M., followed by a Funeral Mass at 
12:00 O’Clock Noon.

Interment in the Galloway Cemetery, Waldheim, La.
