Louis L. McCormick, Jr., a retired petroleum geologist, died peacefully at his 
home on the morning of Tuesday December 13th.

He was 89 years old. Husband of 65 years to the late Marge McCormick; he was a 
generous and determined father to Colin (Celia), Peggy, Barry (Toni), Dana and 
to his grandsons, Ian & Connor.

Lou was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Christwood Apartments since 
2005. He was also a veteran of the US Navy (Flight Instructor), a member, 
former officer and Man of the Year of New Orleans Geological Society, a member 
of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and of the Baton Rouge 
Geological Society.

A celebration of Lou’s life will be held at Christwood Apartments on Saturday 
January 14th at 10 AM.

In lieu of flowers Lou requested that donations be made to the New Orleans 
Geological Society, Suite 300, 810 Union Street, New Orleans, LA 70112.
