She was 82 years old. Mrs Stephenson was born in Scott City, Kan., and graduated high school in Vona, Colo. She has lived in Slidell since 1964 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a number of professional groups. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from southeastern University and also attended UNO and USM. She is survived by two sons, Gerald Lane and Jeffrey Lee Stephenson; daughter- in-law, Darlene and her family, Stewart, David Tiffany, Stuie, Cooper and Logan and three sisters, Georgia Friski, Maxine Loopstra and Doris Beardsley. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Katie Lynn Peluso, Keri Walker, Noel Stephenson, Reuben Stephenson and Brittany Stephenson and four great- grandchildren, Isabella, Caden, Logan and Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleve and Elsie Carpenter; two brothers; two sisters; her husband, Gerald D. and a son Lynn. Memorial service will be held at 11a.m. Monday Dec. 26 at the First United Methodist Church, 433 Erlanger St., Slidell. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the St. Tammany Teachers Scholarship fund or the First United Methodist Church in Slidell. ===================
