Billy was born in Bogalusa Dec. 16th, 1956. Billy formerly was a resident of Serenity House in Ponchatoula, and was currently affiliated with Piney Woods Center in Bogalusa. Billy grew up in Bogalusa, where he played Little League and attended Bogalusa High School. He attended Sullivan Vo-Tech and achieved class A certificate in welding. He was a landscaper for much of his life and was a very hard worker. Billy was excited about life and looked forward to each new day. He was a trustworthy and loyal friend and fishing was his favorite pastime. He was the devoted father of Jennifer Michelle Taylor, age 34, of Slidell, Kyle Allen Taylor, age 27, of Baton Rouge, William “Eric” Taylor, age 25, of Hammond, Kayla Ann Thomas, age 21, of Bogalusa and Jeremy Andrew Ray Taylor, age 17, also of Bogalusa; loving son of the late Ed and Helen (Blackwell) Taylor of Bogalusa; step-son of Irene Taylor of St. Francisville; brother of Sondra Pierce (Otis) of Mandeville, Amber Thompson (Robert) of Abita Springs, Barbara Taylor of Slidell and Jerry Lynn Lobrano (Brian) of Slidell and of the late Amy Horne and Ed Taylor, Jr.; step-brother of Debbie Hayman (Randy) of St. Francisville and Julie Smith of Abita Springs,Rodney Smith (Pam), Greg Smith of Zachary, Ricky Smith (Debbie) of Hammond, Darrin Smith of Zachary and nephew of Doris Branton, of Denham Springs, Nathan Cicero Blackwell of Knoxville, Tenn., Yevonne Taylor Pierce of Bogalusa and the late Hilary Joe Blackwell, Dewitt “Blue” Blackwell, and Willie Ray Taylor. “Uncle Billy” leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews that loved him dearly, as well as great nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Eula Dixon Taylor and Bill Taylor of Sandy Hook, Miss., and Edith Cooper Blackwell and Dewitt Blackwell of Bogalusa. Billy leaves behind a loyal dog Loulou, who watched over him until help arrived. The family would like to thank each person and group that assisted Billy throughout his life. Services for Billy will be held at 1 a.m. tomorrow at Monroe Street Baptist Church at 1412 Monroe Street Bogalusa. The church will be open at 9 a.m. to receive flowers, donations or food.
