Father of Glenda Soccorso(Ed), Clyde “Sonny”J. Becnel, Jr., Kevin Becnel (Carla) and Corey Becnel. Brother of Emile J. Becnel, the late Jewel Mae Wascom and Elva B. Villere. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, Dawn Clements, Rene’ Becnel, Kasey Becnel, Samantha Becnel, Shannon Walczak, Shawn Becnel, Steven Becnel and 6 great grandchildren, Cody, Christian, Ellissa Clements, Brianna, Sofia and Cassidy Becnel. He was a graduate of Warren Easton High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post # 285. He served 31 years as a Deacon at the Elysian Fields Avenue Baptist Church, where he was also a choir member and worked in the Youth Ministries. He retired after 41 years with the U.S. Postal Service in New Orleans. After moving to Slidell, he was a member of First Baptist Church. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 12:00 O’Clock Noon. Interment in FOREST LAWN MAUSOLEUM. Visitation on Wednesday after 10:00 A.M. until funeral time. Donations to First Baptist Church Music Ministry, or to Lakeshore Hospice, preferred, in lieu of flowers. ===================
