Beloved wife of the late William Bennett, preceded in death by her brother James Gerken, daughter Sally Bennett Stevens, and grandson Shane Bennett. Janet was born in Port Smith, Ohio, and following her marriage, she and her husband Bill raised their five children on the west coast in San Diego, CA., Enterprise, OR, and Spokane, WA, her husband’s hometown. They moved to Mandeville, LA in 1982 to be near their three youngest sons. Janet is survived by her brother William Gerken (Kathy), her children Mark F. Bennett (Jenny) of Portland, Or, James W. Bennett (Kaci), Kevin T. Bennett (Jennifer), Matthew P. Bennett (Donna) all of Mandeville, LA. Her grandchildren Mark Stevens (Sue) of Seattle, WA, Suzanne Stevens Spurlock (Jason) of Dearborn, MI, Mary Bennett Kelting (Scott) of Los Osos, CA, Marlena Bennett and Aaron Bennett, both of Portland, OR, Cara Bennett Joseph (Ben), Matthew Bennett (Theresa), Karlee Woodall, Christine Bennett, Sean Bennett, Thomas Bennett, Ann Bennett and Alex Bennett all of Mandeville, LA. She is also survived by 9 (soon to be 10) great-grandchildren, Ella and Gavin Spurlock, Cameron, Katelyn and Anna Joseph, John- Paul and Madelyn Bennett; and Molly Kelting and Bennett Kelting. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mandeville, LA. Private Funeral Services will be held. ===================
