Williams Ducre was born Sept. 9, 1921 to the union of Victor and Delphine Batiste-Williams. She departed this life Wednesday Dec. 28, 2011, after a lengthy illness. Victoria could easily be described as a sweet fun loving person who loved everyone and was always willing to help. Everyone who knew her knew that they were always welcome to her home. If you had a problem she could make you feel better no matter the situation. Ms. Vicky, as she was known to most, had a passion for cooking; there was always a pot on the stove, and she loved to feed people. Victoria leaves to cherish her loving memory two daughters, Veronica (Robert) Taylor and Develin (Barry) Ducre; three sons, Norman (Pat) Ducre Jr., Ronald (Colette) Ducre, and Christopher (Sherrie) Ducre; one sister Alma Williams Paige, all of Slidell; two sisters-in-law, Mary Williams and Cora Williams, of Lacombe, three godchildren, Emma Hartley Paige of Lacombe, Alvernia Edwards and Carmen Clay of Slidell; 17 grandchildren; 43 great-grand-children and five great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Delpine Williams; one son Emanuel Ducre; her loving husband, Norman Ducre Sr.; two sisters, Thelma Landor and Albertine Parker; three brothers, Ambrose Williams, Gilbert Williams, Sr. and Anthony Williams Sr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Starlight Missionary Baptist Church, 2100 Second St. Slidell, visitation will begin at 9 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Williams Cemetery in Lacombe. Arrangements have been entrusted to Doyle Funeral Home of Slidell. ===================
