He fought for his rights and won to become a hero Jan. 12, 2012. He left behind his beloved best friend and trusted confidant, Alicia; his mother, Jan Wroten; his beloved second mother, Wanda Keisler; stepfather, Roger Wroten and father Henry Harrington. He was preceded in death by his beloved big sister, Becky Roshto; Grandma Ruth and Aunt Linda. Jon was an avid musician that amazed even seasoned players with his talent and ability to play any instrument by ear. Sadly, he was never given the opportunity to play in a “real” band, but he knew that one day he would be famous. And, although Jon never received any awards or recognition for his musical skills, and never had a chance to reach his full potential in life, he will be a hero to many people and his legacy will live on. Jon donated his body to science to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis, and to help save the lives of others. His gift is an expression of the ultimate generosity a truly unselfish sacrifice and noble act that speaks volumes. Jon loved to laugh and act silly no matter how sick he felt and viewed life with an innocent, uncluttered perception. His gift will allow others to see through his eyes. Many people never saw beyond his child-like ways and most didn’t bother to engage him in deep conversation, but his decision to help save the lives of total strangers proved just how profound his thoughts and feelings really were. He will be a hero but they won’t even know his name. That’s OK, everyone that loves him knows! He loved all his doctors and staff at Slidell Memorial Hospital, Community Specialty Hospital of Lafayette, and his friends at Park Place Group Home and Pecan Grove. A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced on Jon’s Facebook page. Mom would also like to extend her deepest, heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses that cared for Jon through the years and especially everyone that kept him comfortable in his last hours. ===================
