She was born, July 13, 1926, in Vivian, La., to Marc and Elizabeth Wilkinson. Rhoda graduated from Vivian High School. She attended Centenary College and the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. She was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Major James McMillian Morton; her son, John Marc Morton and her two brothers, Marc and Tycus Wilkinson. She is survived by her son, James McMillian Morton, Jr. and wife, Janice; daughter, Mary Morton Beard and husband, Dr. Joe Beard; son, Perry Fraser Morton and wife, Tracy and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As to her wishes, Rhoda will be cremated and her ashes to be buried with her husband, Major Morton in the Gulfport National Cemetery in Gulfport, Miss., at a later date. The family thanks the staff at the Waterford Retirement Home, Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Dr. Hernandez and the Fourth Floor Nursing staff at Willis- Knighton Pierremont ===================
