Jim is preceded in death his wife, Dorothy Welch and by his son, Edwin James Welch and is the Son of the late Lee and Mable Welch. Jim was born in Walled Lake, Michigan where he lived fifty years, working at General Motors as a plant engineer. He was an Air Force Veteran, serving in Korea. He was an avid gardener and outdoorsman. Living in Mexico, Sarasota, FL, and Covington, LA, Jim was always very active in the United Methodist Church. He leaves 3 children (Patricia Hayes of Massachusetts, Lee Welch of Covington, LA, and Elizabeth Wolfe of Arkansas) and their families, his sister, Nina Wiltse, niece Elain DeSmith and nephew Robb Wiltse. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Thursday January 19, 2011 at 10:30 am at St Timothy’s United Methodist Church 335 Asbury Dr, Mandeville, LA. Visitation from 10:00 am until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Curisiollo program or St Timothy’s United Methodist Church. ===================
