Burvant, Sr., D.D.S. passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Jean Fields Williams Burvant. Father of Edward P. Burvant, Jr., D.D.S. and spouse Embree and Dale A. Burvant. Grandfather of Trey Burvant (Beth), Mother Agnes Maria Burvant, F.J., Bres E. Burvant (Nicole) and Joel E. Burvant, D.D.S. (Myrie). Great-grandfather of Evelyn, Lucy, Audrey, Colette and Christian Burvant. Brother of the late Marion Acuff and Lowell Burvant. Brother-in-law of Doris Burvant and the late Dewey Acuff. Age 94 years. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Covington, LA for the past 33 years. He was a graduate of St. Leo Grammar School, St. Aloysius High School, Loyola School of Dentistry in 1939, Graduate Program at Forsythe Dental School. Served in the Army Dental Corp during WWII. Practiced dentistry in New Orleans for 32 years and Covington for 18 years. Member of the New Orleans Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, American Dental Association. International College of Dentists. Served as Pres. of the New Orleans Dental Association in 1959, Chairman of the NO Dental Conference in 1970, chaired the campaign to “Keep Christ in Christmas” for the NO Dental Association., Charter member of the Krewe of Olympia and served as president. He also served in numerous civic associations. An avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 12:00 PM. Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to All Saints Dental Clinic, 840 N. Columbia St., Covington, LA 70433 or to St. Tammany Hospice, 1203 S.
