He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Lee Havens; his stepdaughter, Thelma Porter of Jacksonville, Fla.; his stepson, Floyd Searcy of Kenner; his daughter, Angel Foti of Jacksonville; his daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte Ann and Eddie Sanchez Jr. of Baton Rouge; his son and daughter-in-law, Maj. Carl A. and Deana Havens of Swansboro, N.C.; his son and daughter-in-law, Lt. George D. and Regina Havens of Houma; his brother and sister-in-law, Sidney and Betty Havens of Charlestown, R.I.; and his 13 grandchildren, great- grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George D. Havens Sr. and Genny Howard Havens; stepfather, Andrew Keller; his brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Ginny Havens, and his stepson, Benny Searcy. Friends and family are invited to attend the memorial service at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Terrytown, with interment at the Biloxi National Cemetery at a later date. The family expresses gratitude to St. Joseph’s Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
