She was a registered nurse and a 1946 graduate of Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans. She was a retired RN from Southeast Louisiana Hospital in Mandeville and a member of The Village Church Lutheran in Lacombe. She is survived by three children, Adele G. Williams, Crystelle G. Vaughn and her husband Bill, and Stephen Gibert and his wife Susan; brother, Lynn Cornwell; sisters, Esther Muller and Marie Burglass; a nephew, George Beron; six grandchildren, Rebecca Jane Williams, Barbara Williams Gossett and her husband Tommy, Danny T. Williams Jr., and his wife Vicki, William Vaughn Jr. and Bryce and Brent Gibert; and her best friend, Angela Vincent. She was “Gramma Great” to Emily, Tommy, Allison, Shelley, Abigail and Danny III. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank J. Gibert; second husband, George Hawley; her parents, Cyrus and Rose Cornwell; brothers, Jerry and Gerald Cornwell; two sisters, Leah Melchert and Helen Pierce; a son-in-law, Danny T. Williams Sr., and a step-grandson, Jimmy Sisson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, from the chapel of D.T. Williams Funeral Home, 67525 La. Highway 41, Pearl River, with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Hickory Memorial Gardens Cemetery, located at D.T.
