She was 87. She was born on Nov. 2, 1924 in Atlanta, GA to the late DeWitt Haskins and Sallie Kate Jackson Haskins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward Wilson Fortner in 1988. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Fortner of Mandeville, LA and Linda F. Collie of Metairie, LA and two grandchildren, Erin M. Collie and Michael E. Collie. She is also survived by her brother Harold V. Haskins of Dothan, AL. Alice was a resident of New Orleans for 44 years and Mandeville for 20 years. She was employed by Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith, University of New Orleans in the Dept. of Education, and Atwater Geological Consultants in New Orleans. She retired in 1986. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mandeville. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend her Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st St. in Covington, LA., on Friday March 23, 2012 at 1:00PM. A visitation will be held between the hours of 11:00AM and 1:00PM. Graveside Services with interment will be at Westview Cemetery, 1680 Westview Drive, Atlanta, GA 30310 on Monday March 26, 2012 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the St. Tammany Parish Humane Society. ===================
