Powe passed away peacefully on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the age of 74. Beloved husband of 49 years to Brenda Wilson Powe; loving father of Pamela Powe Cerminaro (Phil) and William R. Powe (Amy); loving grandfather to Patrick, Caroline, Olivia, William and Tessa. Brother of David Powe (Diane) of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margie Keller Powe and Albert Powe. William served his country in the United States Marine Corps prior to beginning a career in finance. Later he joined Westinghouse Credit Corporation of Pittsburgh, PA and advanced to the position of Chairman and CEO of Westinghouse Financial Services. After a 25 year corporate career, he retired and returned to New Orleans to be closer to family. He spent his retirement years enjoying his family, especially his five grandchildren and being involved in his church with his heart focused on the special needs area. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial services from First Baptist Church of Covington, 16333 Hwy 1085, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 12:00 noon with visitation at church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bill’s honor to First Baptist Church of Covington or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Mississippi/Louisiana Chapter, 3636 S. I-10 Service Rd., Metairie, LA 70001. ===================
