She left this Earth to be with her Maker March 25, 2012 at 2 p.m. in Rolla, Mo. At the age of 18, Betty became the young bride of Isaac Shelby "Doc" Dease in Columbia, Miss., and to this union three girls were born, Patricia Ann, Lyndia Colleen, and Mary Alice. When Mary was a baby, Doc died during heart surgery, leaving Betty with three little girls and a broken heart. In 1957, Betty was joined in holy matrimony to Toxie "Buck" Prine. To this union, two girls were born, Martha Kaye and Susan Elaine. Betty and her family lived in New Orleans, where she was active in her church, and ministering to her family and friends. She played the organ and piano, taught Sunday School, and led backyard Bible clubs. She loved to cook and sew and she had a thirst for learning. She loved music and books, and believed that nature was inspiring and healing. She was a pre- school teacher. In 1971, Betty suffered a brain aneurysm, underwent brain surgery, and had a stroke. She was confined to a wheelchair for 41 years, and in spite of her physical and speech impairments, mentally and spiritually she was free to serve God in the ways she could and live a positive and meaningful life. She had courage, grace and dignity. She encouraged her children and grandchildren, and served as a witness to them in the meaning of absolute faith and unconditional love. Betty Prine was preceded in death by her first husband, Isaac Shelby "Doc" Dease; by her husband Toxie "Buck" Prine; her granddaughter, Laura Lee Geiger; her daughter, Patricia Ann Geiger; her daughter Susan Elaine Prine; her parents, her brothers Nathan and Henry Watts, and her dear friend John. She is survived by her daughters Lyndia Heinecke (and husband Michael Heinecke), Martha Prine Edwards (and husband Dwayne Edwards), and Mary Rouziek. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kenneth Geiger, Terri Stamm, Miriam Rouziek, Andrew Heinecke, Amy Edwards Patterson, Mark Rouziek, Robin Cortes, Jennifer Cortes, Greg Edwards, and Lindsey Sumlin and great-grandchildren Laura LeeAnn Stamm and Wesley Stamm. She is also survived by her sister Lynda Pace; her brother Hubert Watts, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Jones Funeral Home, St. James, Mo. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made to the Capable Kids and Families program, 1101 Hauck Dr., Rolla, MO 65401. ===================
