Roy J. Richards departed peacefully to heaven on Friday, March 16, 2012.

Beloved husband of 48 years to Claire Piglia Richards; loving father of Roy J. 
Richards, Sr., Jeffrey M. Richards and Chad A. Richards; father-in-law of 
Patricia Richards, Becky Richards and Mary Almond (fiancé); grandfather of 
Ongelle, Roy, Jr., Justin, Hillary, Katelyn, Aiden and Arden; and great-
grandfather to Gracie and Bailey. He is also survived by his aunt, Mary 
Fanning. He was preceded in death by his mother, Estelle Saxton Richards; his 
father, George Richards; and five brothers, William, Jesse, Grady, Billy and 
Bob Ross Richards.

Age 70 years, he was a native of Yazoo City, MS, a resident of Madisonville, LA 
for the past 4 years, and formerly a resident of Waggaman, LA for 30 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to a Celebration of the Funeral 
Mass at the Chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st. Avenue, 
Covington, LA 70433 on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 12:00 Noon.

Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday will begin at 10:00 AM and continue 
until Mass time.

Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the National Parkinson 
Foundation
