Henry attended Loyola University under the GI Bill receiving a degree in Accounting. While at Loyola he joined the Spanish Club which was instrumental in the acquisition of the statue of St. Ignatius of Loyola which is still prominent on the campus grounds. He was a charter member of the Rotary Club of St. Bernard. Henry was happiest tending his vegetable gardens and citrus trees until Hurricane Katrina cost him his home in New Orleans East.
