BURKE

Rita Kay Jenkins Burke, 54, passed from this world Tuesday, April 10, 2012. 

She was born Dec. 16, 1957. 
She was a native of Covington and Abita Springs and resided in Loranger.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Michael J. Burke. 
They shared a child, Keshia Kay Burke, born Oct. 5, 1991 and called home Jan. 
27, 2001, at age 9. 

Survivors include sisters, Brenda J. Schwamb, Christine J. Foret (Johnnie) and 
Lena J. Baio; brothers, Lawrence Jenkins (Terrie) and Donald R. Jenkins 
(Beverly); and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. 

Preceding Rita in death were her half-brother, Ottis Buster Threaton; sister 
Rickylynn Jenkins; mother and father Trilby Bennett Jenkins and Alfred Jenkins; 
grandparents, Homer C. and Lilly J. Bennett and Bouet and Mageline Ward 
Jenkins.

Rita’s final resting place will be Spencer Cemetery in Enon with her departed 
family.

A celebration of Rita’s life was hosted by the Burke family April 14 in 
Lacombe.
