Beloved wife of 49 years to the late Joseph John Halisky, Jr., who preceded her in death merely 8 months prior. Loving mother of Jolie A. McCaleb and Col. Joseph G. Halisky. Daughter of the late Akrivi and George Theoharatos. Sister of Charles Theos whom she loved dearly. Julia was the precious Grandmother of Joseph J. III and Jacob Halisky, Zoe Guidry, Luci and Lilli McCaleb. Julia received her undergraduate degree from Rhodes College, and Masters of Education from the University of Oklahoma in 1960. She was a school teacher in the 1950’s and 60’s, then became a homemaker after adopting their children Jolie and Joseph. Julia’s love for teaching, gardening, cooking, entertaining, and Bridge enhanced many people’s lives. She will be remembered as Mom, Grammy, and caring friend. Julia joined her beloved husband Joe in Heaven on what would have been his 75th birthday, so we have solace in knowing they spent it together, and will spend what would have been their 50th wedding anniversary in May together as well. She will be forever in our hearts and missed dearly. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the graveside service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433, on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM. ===================
