ICHIKAWA, KEN 
(May 27, 1958 - April 13, 2012)

Ken M. Ichikawa passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 after a two year battle with 
cancer. He was born on May 27, 1958 in Pittsburg, PA to the late Yosio and 
Dorothy Komeya Ichikawa.

The beloved husband of Kathryn DeKemel, he is survived by two sisters, Karen 
Ichikawa and Diane Ichikawa Lewis; two nieces, Emily and Ann Lewis and many 
loving and devoted friends.

Ken was a brilliant man of many talents and hobbies. He held a degree in 
geology from the University of Pittsburg and worked in this field before 
transitioning to his true vocation. He received a second degree from the 
University of New Orleans in Management Information Systems which allowed him 
to work at various businesses around the metro area as a computer programmer 
and DBA. Fulfilled in these roles, he also loved working with his hands and 
expressed himself through his pottery, gardening, carpentry and woodworking. 
His greatest love however was the time spent with his wife and pets at their 
Mandeville home.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend memorial services at 
5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 
21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.

Visiting hours will begin Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
