Born in Nampa, Idaho on Dec. 14, 1927. Daughter of the late Mildred Robinson and Paul Forton. She was the oldest of eight children and went to work to help support the family after her father died of cancer while she was a senior in high school. Preceded in death by her son Matthew Klebba, she is survived by her husband of 61 years, EJ Klebba, her children: Paul (Gale) Klebba, Peter (Geralyn) Klebba, Theresa (David) Brown, Mary Jo (Philip) Napolitano, Christine Klebba, and Jane (Stephen) Maniscalco, brothers: Lester, Edward, Bernard (Mary), Richard Forton and a sister: Mary Czerwinski. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren as her legacy. They all adored the Grandma who always encouraged them to be the best that they could be. It was love at first sight for her husband EJ, they married Oct. 21, 1950 raising 7 children in various locations, as they moved 7 times as a result of her husband’s years with GE. They settled in Covington, LA in 1968. Polly and the family since then have considered themselves to be true Louisianans. Polly loved and was loved in return for all those terrific years by her husband who always considered himself to be the luckiest man alive to have this wonderful woman as his wife and the mother of their children. Her husband EJ traveled a lot in their early years at work and she was often alone and responsible for the everyday events of those 7 lives in their formative years. Her children remember those years with love and awe of their mom who handled with aplomb the nuances of daily life of 7 children in many locations and many schools, without complaint. Her children adored her and still giggle together in remembering their early years with their mom. Polly never met anyone she didn’t like or did not like her. She was an eternal optimist who always saw the world thru rose colored lens and was always a joy to be near. She simply loved her children, her Lord, and did her best to make life better for all.. She loved tennis and was a member of the Covington Country Club’s women’s teams for many years. She worked for many charities including The Samaritan Center and Hospice of St. Tammany. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Visitation on Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to Hospice of St. Tammany, 1202 S. Tyler St., Covington, LA 70433. She will never be forgotten by her husband, family, and friends for who and what she was….. A Mom, wife, and friend whose integrity, optimism, joy and love made the world a better place. ===================
