LEMA

Catherine Rita Lema, born Sept. 22, 1921, passed on to be with the Lord Feb. 
20, 2012, at the age of 90.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank W. Lema; her mother, Leoine 
Bourg Lema; and her brother, Louis Lema.

She retired from the American Foreign Service April 22, 1977. 
She served in many countries, including Mexico, France, England, Thailand and 
Vietnam. 
She worked as a personnel officer in charge of foreign education of personnel 
during the hectic final days in Vietnam. Her professional and compassionate 
handling of this situation under immense pressure and dangerous conditions won 
her much praise.

After retiring, she made her home in Lacombe.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday April 22, 2012, at First 
Baptist Church, Lacombe.
