She was born in San Diego, Calif., on Oct. 18, 1957, to the late William Arthur Curran and the late Marjorie Cecelia Zuercher Curran and lived in Louisiana for the last 35 years. She was a creative dreamer, talented artist and savvy businesswoman. It was her dream that created the first 300-square-foot Bayou Country in 1989 at Jax Brewery in New Orleans. Always dreaming larger than life, she and her husband, Al Blue, decided to move across the lake to Slidell in 2004, where they built Bayou Country General Store, now a destination shopping experience for locals and for travelers from across the country. Her eye for the new, her artistic talent, and her dreams and plans for the future still keep Bayou Country an exciting place to visit and to work. Christine was a mentor and friend to all who worked with her throughout her career. She is survived by her husband, Alvin Blue; brothers Kevin (Cathy) and Johnny (Melissa); her twin sister, Kathleen; nine nieces and nephews, and eight great- nieces and great-nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Caring Center, 1020 Buccaran Drive, Slidell, LA 70458 (985-646-1368). An intimate memorial for family and friends will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Northshore Beach Community Pavilion, 267 Debbie Drive, Slidell, LA 70458. ===================
