She was born March 27, 1960 in Washington, DC to Sally M. Johnson and George H. Procter. She grew up in Lexington, KY and then moved to Mt. Brook, AL where she graduated from High School. She was a graduate of University of Alabama with a degree in communications and advertising. She was married to Lesley P. Cole of Cullman, Alabama on June 9, 1984. They both fell in love with New Orleans and made this area their home for the past 28 years. Their first home was in Metairie where their children Tyler and Rachel were born. Becky became the “volunteer mother” quickly and was very involved in their children’s lives. They moved to Covington/Mandeville area where they wanted their children to get an excellent education. Becky and Les were involved in all the sports the children participated in and there were always lots of laughter and fun at the Cole house after swim meets, football games, gymnastics and whatever they were involved in at the time. There was also good food around if anyone was hungry and of course they always were! Both Rachel and Tyler are students at LSU and she was very proud of all their achievements. Becky seemed to find time to do civic volunteering also. She worked at the Jazz fest, helped to get the day school started at St. Michael’s church, worked on getting STOP signs installed on the quiet roads where they lived to keep the streets safe for all the children in the area. She also worked outside the home with several Ad agencies as well as GE Longterm Health Care and most recently employed at Mississippi Valley Trade and Transport Council. She loved planning newsletters and conferences for them. She was always praised for the efficient work she produced everywhere she went. Becky is survived by her devoted husband, Lesley and children, Tyler and Rachel, her mother Sally Johnson of Jackson Hole Wyoming and father, George Procter of Vicksburg MS, her sister, Elizabeth Turner of Chattanooga, TN and half-brother John Procter of Washington DC. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank all the medical care at MD Anderson Hospital and East Jefferson Medical Center, who helped her in her struggles against cancer. Also much gratitude is sent to her co-workers at Mississippi Valley Trade and Transport Council. Many friends and neighbors have come through in more ways than we could express to show their love and concern for Becky and her family. She has loved all the cards and beautiful flowers she has been uplifted by. Also these past few weeks we could not have made it if not assisted by Hospice of St. Tammany Parish. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend memorial services at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 South New Hampshire Street, Covington, LA on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Visitation AT THE CHURCH PARISH HALL will be on Monday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the charity of choice. ===================
