Survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Ida Fay Davis Newton. Survived also by his children Ray M. Newton (Sheila), Kathleen Mix Diamond (James) and Mary Beth Fenasci (Robert). Grandchildren Michael Newton, Tania Mix Loumiet (Randy), Christina Newton Taix (Ray), Alayne Fenasci Floyd (Christopher), Shane Fenasci (Brittany), Christa Fenasci, and Rachel Fenasci. Also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. Ray was born in New Orleans on September 18, 1925. He served his country in the Merchant Marines during World War II. A graduate of Our Lady of Holy Cross College, Ray touched the lives of many as an instructor in refrigeration and air conditioning at Delgado Community College for over 30 years. He also served for many years as the secretary for the local chapter of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) and was very active in the Catholic Church. Among other fine qualities, Ray will always be remembered for his kindness and utmost devotion to his wife and family. A private burial service was held for the family. A Memorial Mass for family and friends will be held at St. Dominic Church, 775 Harrison Avenue, New Orleans, LA, on May 9, 2012 at 7:30 PM. Pastor Michael O’Rourke, O.P. will be presiding. The Family wishes to thank Dr. Alan Yager and St Theresa Hospice. Donations preferred to St. Dominic Catholic Church. ===================
