He is the beloved husband of Elise Marie Bergeron Olsen for the past 52 years. Beloved father of 7 children; Sandra Anne Olsen, Denton, TX., Kathleen Claire Smith, Redding, Ct., Michael Patrick Olsen(Sandy), Slidell, La., James Fredrick Olsen, Seattle, WA., Mary Theresa Flicking, Harrisburg, PA., Anne Marie Olsen, Jennings, La. and Trina Louisa Olsen, Baton Rouge, La. Son of the late Ethel Anderson Olsen and Irwin J. Olsen, Sr. Brother of Joyce Thedy. Beloved grandfather of Jessica Armstrong, Joshua and Andrew Olsen, Nathan Flickinger, George Smith and the late Melissa Olsen. Born a Catholic in New Orleans, LA., on Dec. 21, 1924. He was a WWII veteran, participating in the D-Day Invasion and continued in the European theatre in the U.S. Army’s 79th Artillery Division under General Patton. A graduate of L.S.U. with a B.A. Degree in Geology and has been a lifetime Tiger fan. After working for The Superior Oil Company, he owned and operated NOLA Candle Company on North Robertson Street in New Orleans for over 40 years. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, a resident of south Slidell for 46 years, a Lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 2732 and the Elks Lodge # 2321. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 400 Westchester Blvd., Slidell, LA on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY. Visitation at the Church on Tuesday morning after 9:30 A.M. until funeral time, with recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. Masses preferred U.S. Veteran ===================
