Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2012/st1205.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== On May 21st, 2012, Tony Samrow of Slidell, LA passed away at the age of 84, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 29, 1928 to the late George and Viola Samrow and was a lifelong resident of the Bayou Liberty area. Tony was married for 64 years to the late Nellie Crawford Samrow, the love of his life. He leaves behind his 4 children, Toni Marie Lewis (Darrell), Keith Samrow (Debbie), Bobbie Samrow and Claudette Eberly (Steve). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Angel Cross (Pat), Amy Gochenour (Ron), Scott McKinnis (Hayley), Steve Samrow, Heather Schilling (BJ), Denise Gordon (Frank), Tarzan Treadway (Adrienne), Jon Eberly, Corey Eberly (Angie) and 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He is also survived by his sister, Louise McClelland, and his brothers, Perry and Earl Samrow. He was preceded in death by his grandson Eric Treadway and brothers Steve, Sidney and Stanley Samrow. Tony enjoyed life and never knew a stranger. When you met him, you had a friend for life. He added to his family the owner of Los Tres Amigos on Gause Blvd., Giovanni and his staff, who he and mom spent many Wednesday and Friday evenings with. Tony was active in the Slidell Ham Radio Club until his illness. He retired from American Standard in New Orleans, was a great jeweler, who made hand engraved monogram jewelry. He was a past member of the Slidell Sportsman League, and had a passion for hunting and fishing. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Allen Calabresi and his staff, the staff and Dr’s at DaVita, St. Joseph Hospice and the nurses on the 3rd floor at Ochsner Medical Center in Slidell. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell, LA on Friday, May 25, 2012 5:00pm until 10:00pm and on Saturday from 11:00am until 1:00pm.
