DOROTHY MAE DOOSE STRICKLAND, of Slidell, LA on Sunday, May 27, 2012. 

Dottie was the only child of Gabriel and Eudolie Verneiul Doose. 
She was the wife of the late F.M. “Red” Strickland until his death on June 14, 
1982. 

She grew up, attended school and church in Algiers, La. She attended Newcomb 
College after she graduated from high school. She worked in secretarial and 
business positions and then for Thompson Packers, which led her to move to 
Slidell. 
Upon her retirement, she accomplished a life long dream of securing her 
Bachelors and Masters Degree in Horticulture in 1992 and was the oldest 
graduate from S.L.U. 
She was an active member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and served as 
President of the Slidell Garden Club on three occasions. She also attended 
other Bible study groups(Joy, Proverbs 31, etc.) 
She enjoyed traveling and still loved an adventure. She was Patriotic and 
always flew her flag on those holidays, especially Flag Day, which was also her 
birthday. 
She enjoyed contact with her family, friends and meeting new people. She will 
remain loved.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Services 
at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), 
Slidell, LA on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. 

Interment in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, New Orleans. 
Visitation on Wednesday after 10:00 A.M. until funeral time
