Betty Achord Thompson passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on 
Friday, May 4, 2012. Age 74 years. 

She was the beloved wife of 60 years of Kemp “Junior” Thompson. 
Loving mother of Billy Thompson (Wanda), Elizabeth Thompson Taylor (Tiger), 
Sharon Thompson Blackwell (James) and Amy Thompson Bennett (Daniel). 
Daughter of the late Johnny and Eula Achord of Ponchatoula. 
Cherished grandmother “Nanny” of Derek (Jenna), Ryan, Dana, Tasso (Amy), 
Jessica (Scotty), Stephanie (Justin), Becky (James), Jamie, Justin, and 
Christian. 
Treasured great grandmother of Shelby, William, Austin, Ava, Addy, Justin, 
Caitlyn, Sara, Mary, Caleb, Derek Paul, and preceded in death by Ryan, Jr. 
Sister of Louise Achord Easley and Thomas Merlin Achord. 

Preceded in death by brothers Dean “Butch” Achord, Leon Achord, Euell Achord 
and Hurley Achord.

She was a lifelong resident of Folsom. 

She enjoyed travel, and loved her family more than life.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Lee Hill 
Baptist Church, 11007 Lee Settlement Road in Folsom, LA on Monday, May 8, 2012 
at 1:00 pm. 

Visitation at the church from 11:00 am until service time.

Interment will follow in Briar Patch Cemetery in Husser, LA.
