Champagne, 77, passed away of natural causes on Sunday, June 3, 2012. Born Dec. 25, 1934, in New Orleans, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Irene Cancienne, the beloved wife of Jules J. Champagne Jr., the mother of six children, 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Champagne lived a very fulfilling life, touching the lives of so many people. She was a retired U.S. Postal Service rural letter carrier and an active member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association and Veterans of Foreign Wars and held office in numerous porcelain clubs. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and travel. A funeral will be Friday, June 8, 2012, at Schoen Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the noon service. Procession will follow to Hickory Gardens Cemetery behind Williams Funeral Home, Pearl River. ===================
