Beloved husband of Patricia Ann Tracy Schaff. Loving father of Jennifer Joslyn Schaff Mutter and husband, Shane Charles Mutter. Son of the late Aeolus Martinez Schaff-Beaumont and Jules Louis Schaff. Brother of Jane Mary Schaff Monaghan, Lynn Mary Schaff Sandifer, Kathleen Ann Schaff McLeod, and the late William Louis Schaff, Sr. and the late Joycelyn Ann Schaff Carrier. Grandfather of Ella Jane Mutter and Sebastian Rayce Mutter. Mr. Schaff was a third-degree Knight of Columbus, a native of Metairie and a resident of Mandeville since 1987, where he was in engineering sales at Fair Engineering Sales, Inc. for thirty-six years, and then in retail sales at Bedding Plus, LLC for the last four years. He was a Viet Nam Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and during his service, was responsible for playing taps during the honorable burial of hundreds of soldiers all over the nation, including Arlington National Cemetery. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 West Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA 70471 on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM with visitation AT THE CHURCH from 10:00 AM until Mass time. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Dennis to be made to St. Scholastica Academy or The Covington Food Bank. The family wishes to thank the untiring efforts of the doctors, nurses, and staff of St. Tammany Parish Hospital who fought the courageous fight to save Dennis’s life; and the many priests, ministers, and people of God who prayed for his beautiful soul.
